On 11 September 2026, a delegation from Curtin University, Australia—represented by Dr. Navdeep K. Dhami and Ms. Sheryl Ishita Das—visited the University of Hyderabad (UoH) to explore institutional collaborations and engage with faculty and students.

The delegates held high-level discussions with UoH leadership, including Prof. J. Anuradha, Vice-Chancellor (i/c); Dr. Devesh Nigam, Registrar; and representatives from the Office for International Affairs, including Prof. Aparna Rayaprol and Dr. B. R. Shamanna, to identify joint research opportunities and build global academic pathways. During the discussions, Curtin University expressed a strong interest in initiating collaborative efforts primarily in the fields of Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Communication, and Earth Sciences, with an initial focus on student internship programs and dual degree opportunities.
Prior to the bilateral leadership meeting, the visiting delegation interacted directly with faculty members from the School of Medical Sciences and the School of Life Sciences. Potential areas of collaboration identified included faculty exchange, student mobility, and joint research. Additionally, around 90 students and research scholars—primarily from the School of Medical Sciences, the School of Life Sciences, and allied disciplines—attended a presentation by the Curtin University team. The session provided participants with valuable insights into international research opportunities, higher education pathways, and career development.

The visit concluded on a promising note, paving the way for future academic tie-ups, joint degree frameworks, and student mobility programs between the two institutions.
