Dr. Shatabdi Porel Mukherjee, an alumnus of the School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad (UoH), has been honoured with the international “She Leads Sustainability” Recognition and Award by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC – West India Chapter).
The award was conferred during the RSC India Sustainability Forum 2026, held on September 9, 2026, at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL), Pune. The landmark event was jointly organized in collaboration with CSIR-NCL, Pune, and the INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar.
Dr.Shatabdi completed doctoral studies (PhD) at UoH between 2002 and 2007 under the mentorship of Prof. T. P. Radhakrishnan. Currently serving as Scientist F (Senior Principal Scientist) at CSIR-NCL, Pune, Dr. Shatabdi received this prestigious honour in recognition of pioneering research contributions in Chemistry, specifically focusing on advanced nanomaterials for environmental sustainability.
Reflecting on this achievement, Dr. Shatabdi attributed much of this success to the rigorous academic training, strong foundation, and mentorship received from Prof. T. P. Radhakrishnan and the faculty at UoH’s School of Chemistry, noting that the values and scientific perspective instilled during their time at the University continue to guide their professional journey.
