Mr. Mokanpally Sandeep, PhD Scholar at the School of Medical Sciences, University of Hyderabad, under the supervision of Dr M Surya Durga Prasad, presented his doctoral research at the Behavioural and Implementation Science in Health Asia Conference (BISHAC 2026), organised by the National University of Singapore (NUS).
His presentation, titled “Implementation and Effectiveness of a BASNEF-Based mHealth Intervention to Improve Antihypertensive Medication Adherence and blood pressure control Among Hypertensive Patients in Urban Slums of Telangana: A Hybrid Type 2 Effectiveness-Implementation Study,” showed how behavioural and implementation science approaches can be used to develop and evaluate a contextually relevant digital health intervention to improve medication adherence and blood pressure control among underserved patients with hypertension.
Post-conference, he also took part in capacity-building training organised by the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, covering advanced behavioural and implementation science, qualitative research methods, and implementation evaluation. Sandeep expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Dean, his supervisor, and the Doctoral Committee of the School of Medical Sciences for their continued support, guidance, and encouragement throughout his doctoral journey.
