An MoU has been signed between University of Hyderabad (UoH), India and Academia Sinica (AS), Taiwan for faculty and student exchange, collaborative research and organization of joint workshops. Under this MoU, UoH and AS faculty will jointly supervise scholars for Ph.D degree in the areas of Genomics, Microbiology, neurobiology, protein folding and dynamics, Plant biology, Cancer research, Biochemistry, Animal Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, etc.,

This MoU has been signed at a joint workshop on “Frontiers in Life Sciences” during 16-17, September, 2016, organized by Dr. J. S. S. Prakash, School of Life Sciences, involving a delegation from Academia Sinica lead by Prof. Sue Lin Chao, Director, International affairs and the faculty, scholars and student participants from School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad. Faculty from both institutions have exchanged the ideas and discussed initiation of collaborative research and joint Ph.D supervision program.

Prof. Appa Rao Podile, VC, University of Hyderabad delivered an inaugural address to a gathering of 350 participants in the workshop. An MoU for “AS-UoH joint Ph D supervision” was formally exchanged between Prof. Appa Rao Podile, VC, UoH and Prof. Sue Lin Chao, Director, International affairs, Academia Sinica.

Prof. Reddanna, Dean School of Life Sciences, UoH, Prof. Aloka Parasher Sen, Director, International affairs office, UoH and other faculty members of School of Life Sciences were present in the two-day workshop. Dr. J. S. S. Prakash, Faculty of Department of Biotechnology, School of Life Sciences has coordinated this two-day event.
