Angira Kar, an alumna of the Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (MA, Batch 2022–2024), has secured a fully funded PhD position in the Department of Anthropology at Purdue University, USA, beginning in August 2026.

The offer includes a Graduate Teaching Assistantship for up to five years, along with full tuition remission, providing comprehensive financial support for her doctoral studies. Her proposed research is situated within the field of environmental anthropology and will focus on multispecies ethnography in plantation landscapes, examining the complex interactions among humans, non-human species, and ecological environments.
