The National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Hyderabad organized a cleanup drive at the School of Humanities on 24-08-2024 as a part of Swachhata Pakhwadda campaign, which is inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision to make swachhata “everyone’s business”. Swachhata Pakhwada is a campaign that aims to promote cleanliness and sanitation in India as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
NSS volunteers swept the dry leaves in the premises and on the terrace of the building, and cut the bushes and the branches of the trees, which were causing damage and seepage to the walls and classrooms.
They removed the dry logs lying on the premises and transported them to the dump yard by the tractor. Volunteers worked for almost 4 hours from 7 to 11 am despite continuous rains.
Dr. B. Krishnaiah, NSS Co-ordinator and Dr. Bhimsingh, The Programme Officer guided the volunteers while participating in the activity. He thanked the NSS volunteers, and personnel of the horticulture and sanitation departments for their cooperation.
Dr. Bheem Singh, the programme officer supervised the activity.
