Indian Anthropology Congress (IAC) is the momentous of any such academic gathering happening in India, in terms of the diversity of themes dealt with during the event as well as the number of distinguished scholars who participate in it. Indian National Confederation and Academy of Anthropologists (INCAA) is the chief organizer of the congress and this time, in its 2022 edition, the Department of Anthropology, University of Hyderabad is collaborating with INCAA to host and facilitate the grand event.
The major theme of IAC-2022 is ‘Anthropology and Bio-Cultural Diversity in India: Retrospect and Prospect’. Associated with this major theme there are a number of diverse and broader subthemes also on which active academic discourses are aimed at.
The three-day Congress will be happening from 21st to 23rd of February, 2022, in a blended mode -offline for local participants and online for outstation participants by considering the ongoing pandemic scenario.
The IAC-2022 embodies an array of academic sessions and discourses like Paper Presentations, Poster Presentations, Book Presentations, Film Exhibitions, and Symposiums. Three Memorial lectures, in fond memory of Prof. B.M Das, Prof. S.C. Dube, and Prof. Vinay K. Srivastava will be organized on the first, second, and third day of the congress. The Congress also gives a platform for participants to organize Round Tables on significant themes by inviting eminent resource persons. Inaugural and Valedictory sessions are two of the distinguished occasions where keynote addresses by eminent scholars will be delivered. Scholars can join the IAC-2022 in various ways, as paper presenters, poster presenters, film exhibitors, organizers of symposia/ round table, or as listeners.
Beyond the presentation of scholastic works and discussion happening on the occasion of the Congress, it is a prime objective of the organizers to provide a platform for the publication of the illustrious works presented in the form of proceedings by reputed publishers.
