Dr. G. SAI SARAVANAN, an alumnus of University of Hyderabad (UoH) and an Outstanding Scientist (Scientist ‘H’) has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Centre (GAETEC), Hyderabad.
GAETEC, a unit of SITAR, Government of India, manufactures high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs), monolithic microwave ICs (MMICs), semiconductor lasers, THz devices, etc., based on III-V compound semiconductors like Gallium Arsenide and Gallium Nitride. He has been serving GAETEC since its inception in various capacities to enable technology transfers of MMICs, development of new processes and technologies, and recently upgraded the facility with capabilities up to 40 GHz for production.
Dr. Sai Saravanan completed his PhD in 2007 under the supervision of Prof. Anand P. Pathak, School of Physics, University of Hyderabad. He has been actively involved with the School of Physics as a Resource person and interacting with research students and faculty, and was also recently selected as an expert external member on the Board of studies of CASEST, University of Hyderabad.
