Gayatry Praveen, an alumnus, Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) presented a paper titled “Decolonizing girls’ uniforms in Christian management schools: exploring the implications of intersectionality on identity, agency, and power” at the two-day international interdisciplinary symposium, themed “From colonial modernity to decolonization: the British Empire and beyond,” held at the University of Auckland, New Zealand on September 15th and 16th, 2023 (online mode).

This paper, which was presented under the guidance of Dr. Anurekha Chari Wagh from the Department of Sociology, took part in the panel discussion titled “Decolonizing education.”

Gayatry says, “throughout my research and presentation, I aimed to shed light on the significance of examining the impact of intersectionality on the identities, agency, and power dynamics within Christian management schools, specifically regarding girls’ uniforms”.
