A seminar was organised on “Prachina Telugu Sahitya Charitra” (History of Telugu Literature) on 1 November, 2015 at the College for Integrated Studies. Chief Guests for this seminar were Prof. Aruna Kumari and Associate Professor, Dr. Darla Venkateswara Rao from the Department of Telugu and faculty member Sri Mallegoda Ganga Prasad conducted the seminar. The chief guests in their address gave key points to improve the skills of presentation.

The objective of this seminar was to make the students aware of the importance of learning ancient Telugu history and as a platform to learn valuable things like how a seminar is conducted, how to present in the seminar and mainly to avoid stage fear.

The participants of the seminar were classified into five groups each of them were given a topic and asked to give paper presentation using the guidelines given by the professor’s during the seminar. As part of curriculum of the Integrated Studies Programme, students from departments like Anthropology, Political Science, Urdu, Hindi, and Linguistics have also participated. Even though many of the students were not from core-Telugu group, their active participation impressed one and all. The guests and audience were enlightened and delighted at the outcome of the Seminar which was comparable to a National event.

The participants expressed their sincere thanks to Prof. Ganga Prasad for providing them with this platform to enhance their speaking skills. The students hoped that CIS would encourage such seminars in future too.
