The National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Hyderabad (UoH) organized a Mega Plantation Drive – Vasudha Vandan – creation of Amrit Vatika with 75 saplings of indigenous trees on 09-08-2023 with co-ordination of the horticulture department, UoH as part of “Meri Maati Meri Desh”. It is the finale of Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav to culminate the Azadi Ka Mahotsav programme.
Honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. B.J. Rao inaugurated the programme by planting a sapling and graced the occasion. Dr. Devesh Nigam, the registrar of the university planted a sapling and Dr. B. Krishnaiah, the NSS Co-ordinator, Dr. Bheem Singh, Dr. Rani Ratna Prabha and Dr. Varalakshmi Manchana – the programme officers and the NSS volunteers have participated and completed the programme successfully.
Sri Srinivas Rao and Sri Subba Rao, the officials of the Horticulture Department and their workers have supplied the saplings for the programme.
