Nabanita

Nabanita has been awarded this distinguished scholarship for her academic merit and alignment with Macmillan’s legacy of promoting social justice. Her PhD research interrogates the environmental politics of infrastructures and logistical projects in a climate-vulnerable coastal region of West Bengal. This research hopes to potentially contribute to critical social sciences scholarships on infrastructure, logistics, future-making, and environmental politics.

Nabanita, embarked on her PhD journey, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the University of Hyderabad where she spent five transformative years completing an Integrated Master’s in Sociology, the years that laid the foundation for everything she has achieved subsequently.

Exemplifying perseverance and determination, she graduated with distinction and received the University Gold Medal for securing the first position in the Integrated Master’s in Sociology (2017-2022 batch). She is currently pursuing PhD at the University of Edinburgh.
