Prof. Ramana Murthy Rupakula, senior faculty in the School of Economics at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) has received an award for distinguished contribution to political economy.

This award has been given to him on the basis of article published by him in World Review of Political Economy, titled “Class Differentiation and Crisis of Agrarian Petty Commodity Producers in India” (2016). The World Association of Political Economy (WAPE) presented this award to Prof. Ramanamurthy during the 12th Forum held recently at Moscow State University of Law and Finance, Russia.

Prof. Ramana Murthy currently teaches Political Economy and Development and Macroeconomics at the School of Economics. He has been working in the area of Agrarian Transformation in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He is an official signatory of Indian Political Economy Association.
