Professor S Swaminathan 60th Birthday Commemoration Lecture of the Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi awarded to Prof. Ashwini Nangia

Prof. Ashwini Nangia, Senior Professor and Dean, School of Chemistry at University of Hyderabad has been awarded the Professor S Swaminathan 60th Birthday Commemoration Lecture. The Lecture award was established in 1990 to commemorate Professor S Swaminathan, an eminent organic chemist and a distinguished Fellow of the Academy, for outstanding contributions in Chemical Sciences. The first award was made in 1992.

Prof. Ashwini Nangia

Prof. Ashwini Nangia obtained his M.Sc. in Chemistry from I.I.T. Kanpur in 1983, and was awarded the Ph.D. degree from Yale University in 1988. He joined the School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad as a Lecturer in 1989 where he rose to the position of Professor of Chemistry in 2001. He took the charge as the eleventh Director of CSIR-NCL form 2016-2020. Prof. Ashwini Nangia is a JC Bose Fellow of SERB-DST, and a Fellow of the three premier National Science Academies of India, and is highly ranked in the Stanford list of global scientists. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London.
