The Campus Cultural Center of the University of Hyderabad recently organized music concert in collaboration with the SPIC MACAY Hyderabad chapter as part of the Republic Day celebrations in 2024. The event featured performances by noted Carnatic Veena player Vidwan D. Srinivas from Hyderabad and well-known Hindustani vocalist Pt. Jayteerth Mevundi. The accompanying artists included Ramakrishna on Mridangam, Chandrakant on Ghatam, Keshav Joshi on Tabla, Aranyakumar on Harmonium, Pranathi on Tanpura, Hrushikesh on Manjira instruments.

 

 

The concert commenced with a rendition of Vande Mataram as a tribute to the nation and concluded with the iconic song of unity, Mile Sur Mera Tumhara. Both artists delivered captivating classical compositions in various Ragas.

 

 

The program was skillfully organized by the Cultural Coordinator, Dr. Aranyakumar. Dr. Hermavati Ramaswamy felicitated the artists, and was compered by Santoshini and Shrirangapriya. Students from the Music and other departments volunteered in conducting the event. Dr.Pragya and Dr.Pavani, faculty from music department assisted in organising the program.
