Mr. Rizvan PS, a PhD scholar from the Department of History, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) working under the guidance of Prof. Suchandra Ghosh, attended and delivered a presentation titled “Bridging Coasts and Cultures: A Comparative Study of Arikamedu, Alagankulam, and Pattanam in Early Historic Tamilakam” at the CAA 2025 conference held at the University of West Attica, Athens, Greece, from May 5 to 9, 2025.

The Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods in Archaeology (CAA) conference is a premier international event that brings together global experts to explore digital innovations in archaeological research and heritage studies. Rizvan’s participation in the conference was a significant milestone, showcasing the University of Hyderabad’s research excellence on an international platform.

Rizvan’s paper focused on digital and comparative methodologies to understand coastal connectivity and cultural dynamics in South Indian archaeology, demonstrating his expertise and innovative approach to historical research. His participation in the conference was supported by the CAA International Travel Bursary Award, which fully covered travel and accommodation expenses. This award enabled him to engage with leading scholars, present his research, and represent the University with distinction.
