Mr. Sourav Kumar Sinha, an alumnus of the Department of History, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (MA History, 2022-2024 batch), has secured a highly prestigious PhD studentship at the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. Sourav will be pursuing a four-year PhD program in Business and Management, with a focus on business history.

Sourav has been awarded the esteemed Alliance Manchester Business School Studentship 2025, valued at approximately ₹2 crore (US$230,000). This achievement is a testament to Sourav’s academic excellence, research potential, and dedication to his field.
Sourav expresses his heartfelt gratitude to the faculty members in the Department of History, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad, for their invaluable support and guidance. He particularly thanks his master’s dissertation supervisor, Dr. Vijaya Ramadas Mandala, and other history faculty members, including Prof. Suchandra Ghosh, Dr. V.J. Varghese, Prof. Bhangya Bhukya, and Prof. Eswara Rao.
Prior to joining the PhD program, Sourav worked as a research associate under the guidance of Prof. Chinmay Tumbe at IIM Ahmedabad, following the completion of his MA in History with a GPA of 8.62 out of 10 (distinction grade).
