Professor Surajit Dhara, School of Physics, University of Hyderabad, is elected as a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences-2025.

Prof. Surajit Dhara
Professor Surajit Dhara has made seminal contributions in emerging areas of liquid crystal science and technology, ranging from the fundamental understanding of topological defects and colloidal interactions, topology-enabled new states of colloidal organisations, designing a new class of controllable motile particles for topological active matter, development of liquid crystal microdroplet-based optical microresonators and micro-lasers, discovery of new physiochemical effects and physical properties in ferroelectric and ferromagnetic nematic liquid crystals. Besides extensive fundamental research, he has commercialised indigenously developed technologies for liquid crystal devices.
Congratulations and best wishes to Professor Surajit Dhara.
