The first program of Spoorthi Series was organized by the Office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare and Centre for Integrated Studies, in the form of an awareness programme on 24.03.2026 from 03:00 p.m in the CIS Annexure, Room No. 201. The program was presided over by Prof. J. Anuradha (I/c Vice-Chancellor). Key Speakers invited were Dr. Hemangini Sharma from NALSAR University, Ms. B. Sai Sri, SP, Cyber Crimes and Sri. CH. Srinivas, DCP, Serilingampally.

The themes were Gender Sensitization, Caste discrimination, Cyber Security and other related issues, and safety and security.
The program was facilitated by the students’ Shape Your Thought club of CIS who helped in compering and prepared rapporteur reports etc., Prof. G. Padmaja, DSW, gave the welcome address which was followed by the Vice-Chancellor’s presidential address. In her presidential remarks, the Vice-Chancellor spoke about the importance of the topics covered in the program and the need for awareness around the themes.


This was followed by the talk by Dr. Hemangini Sharma on the theme – Gender Sensitization and Caste Discrimination. In her talk she emphasized that University should be a safe space, and all should contribute for the same and urged the students to be conscious of what you are doing and what you are saying.
In invited talk was by Ms. Sai Sri, SP Cyber Crimes on the theme – Cyber Security, she alerted the students that their role in preventing cyber crime includes staying aware and alert, reporting and acting quickly, and being responsible online. She pointed that the multiplier effect which means what you click, share or ignore doesn’t just affect you the person, it can impact your friends, classmates and others around you.
This was followed by a talk by Sri. CH. Srinivas, DCP, Serilingampally, spoke on theme – Safety and Security. He pointed that HCU students and police should have an interaction and there is no rule that police cannot enter the campus. Students should take up volunteering and can also get benefits from them.
The Registrar, in his concluding remarks, affirmed necessary measures for safety and security and lauded the invitation to students as volunteers. The talks were followed by a Question and Answer session which was addressed by the speakers.
In conclusion the Associate Director of CIS Dr. Manju Sharma thanked the Vice-Chancellor, expert speakers, faculty and students for making the program possible as well as making it a success.
