The Department of Education and Education Technology (DoEET), School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), NCERT, successfully organised a three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled ICT and Emerging Technologies for Teachers, Teacher Educators and Pupil Teachers from 24th to 26th November 2025. The programme was hosted at the School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad.

The programme aligned with the vision of NEP 2020 and aimed to engage and enhance the participants’ digital competence through exposure to emerging technologies, Learning Management Systems, and AI-integrated teaching tools.

The workshop was inaugurated in the presence of Prof. K. Suneetha Rani, Dean, School of Social Sciences, UoH, Prof. Madhusudan J.V., Head, DoEET, UoH, Prof. M. Vanaja, Dean, School of Education and Training, MANUU and Prof. Shireesh Pal Singh, CIET–NCERT. The sessions featured distinguished speakers Prof. J.N. Baliya (Central University of Jammu), Dr. Vaibhav G Jadhav (Savitribai Phule Pune University), Prof. Madhusudan J.V. (DoEET, UoH), Dr. Pranita Gopal and Prof. Bharti from CIET, NCERT, and Prof. Mustaq Ahmed I. Patel, DDE, MANUU.

Across the three days, participants engaged in hand-on practice sessions on NEP–2020 and digital initiatives, LMS, OER, AI tools for teaching, AR/VR applications in education, ICT-based assessments, instructional design, assistive technologies, and learning analytics in LMS environments. Hands-on practice with platforms such as Moodle and Other Assistive Technologies enabled participants to develop practical skills for implementing technology-enhanced teaching and learning.

The programme witnessed active participation from faculty members, research scholars, and pupil teachers. The FDP concluded with the remarks of Prof. Madhusudan J.V., Head (DoEET, UoH), followed by a valedictory session in which Prof. Mustaq Ahmed I. Patel (Professor, DDE, MANUU), Prof. S. Mani (Member, SRC-NCTE, New Delhi), and Prof. Bharti (CIET, NCERT) were present, marking a successful step towards building a digitally empowered, future-ready teacher education community.
