The Department of Hindi, School of Humanities, University of Hyderabad (UoH) organized a Two Day National Seminar on “Phanishwarnath ‘Ranu’ Aaj Ka katha-paridhriya” on 13th August 2013 at the School of Humanities Auditorium, UoH. The seminar was organized in honor of noted critic and writer in Hindi Prof. Suvas Kumar, who retired from the University on attaining superannuation.
Prof. Ramkrishna Ramswamy, Vice-Chancellor, UoH inaugurated the seminar and honored Prof. Suvas Chndra Kumar with a memento and shawl. Prof. Ramaswamy in his inaugural address said that he like Renu’s Story ‘Tisiri Kasam’ in life of a teacher where there are three imported phases – Appointment, Professorship and Retirement and the third phase of the teaching journey is always a memorable movement, because from there the teacher reviews his entire career. On this occasion students of the Department of Hindi has also honored Prof. Suvas Chandra Kumar by presenting a memento.
Well know writer of Hindi literature Shri Sanjiv delivered Key-note address. Prof. R.S. Sarraju, Department of Hindi, gave welcome address. Prof. V. Krishna, Head, Department of Hindi and Prof. Amitabdas Gupta, Dean School of Humanities shared their views on this occasion. Prof. Ravi Ranjan, Department of Hindi proposed a vote of thanks.
