The University of Hyderabad (UoH) is the favourite destination for students wanting to pursue higher education in the country. This has been again proved by the whopping number of applications received for admissions to the various courses for the year 2016-17. UoH has received a record number of 43,300 applications for admissions to various courses for which the entrance examinations will be held from 30th May to 5th June 2016.

Shri Devesh Nigam, Controller of Examinations i/C says, “This year there is a very good response from the students. The highest number of applications (13,649) has come from the State of Telangana.” UoH is conducting entrance examination at 37 centres all over India, he added.

Out of the 43,300 completed applications women account for 18769 while men are 24526. The University has also received 5 applications from Transgenders.

The highest number of applications have been received from Telangana (13,649) followed by Andhra Pradesh (5,596), Kerala (4538), West Bengal (3069), Odisha (3055), Uttar Pradesh (2630) and rest from all other parts of the country.

The entrance examinations will be held between May 30, 2016 and June 5, 2016.
