The IGM Library at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) conducted half-day workshop on “MENDELEY” a free reference manager from Elsevier Publisher, in order to make awareness/better use among the faculty members and research scholars, on 9th March 2017 at Conference Hall, School of Management. More than 150 participants attended this workshop.

Prof. P Prakash Babu, Dean – Students’ Welfare who was the Chief Guest informed the students on the importance of the “MENDELEY” reference manger in the research data browsing and contacting different groups of the research institutes and Universities in the world. He said, “Unlike earlier we had to send request letters to the scientists from different places/ countries by post and getting reprints took very long time. This delayed research progress and affected quality of research data being generated.” Prof. Prakash Babu emphasised on the availability of advanced technology to browse the research data in short time in the lab. He suggested the research scholars to make use of the “MENDELEY” and get benefitted. Finally he congratulated and complimented the Dr. Varatharajan, Librarian, Dr. Ravi, Dy. Librarian and Dr. Uma, Dy. Librarian and staff who has been instrumental in procuring various software and journals for the benefit of the students, faculty and University community at large.
