The Centre for Advanced Studies in Electronics Science and Technology (CASEST, School of Physics) successfully conducted its Alumni Meet 2026 on 31st January 2026 at Dr. Zakir Husain Auditorium, University of Hyderabad. The event was inaugurated by the honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. B. J. Rao, in the presence of Prof. Debashis Acharya (Coordinator, UoH Alumni-Cell), Prof. Nirmal K. Viswanathan (Dean, School of Physics), Prof. Samrat L. Sabat (Head, CASEST), and the Chief Guest, Prof. K. Venu, Founder and CEO of Manjeera Digital Systems.

Prof. B. J. Rao congratulated CASEST for organizing the alumni meet and commended the remarkable achievements of its alumni, who are currently working in reputed organizations such as Intel, AMD, DRDO, Microchip, MathWorks, Synopsys, Silicon Labs, various academic institutes and startups. He encouraged both students and alumni to continue striving for excellence and to pursue ambitious professional goals. Prof. Samrat L. Sabat highlighted the vision and accomplishments of CASEST, including the recent ₹5 Crore CSR grant from HAL for establishing a Centre of Excellence in Digital Twin Technology. Other dignitaries also appreciated the contributions of the alumni and motivated the students to build impactful careers.

The full-day event featured engaging alumni talks from academia (Dr. P Rangababu, IIITDM, Karnool), industry (Mr. Sriram Bommakanti, Intel) , and entrepreneurship (Prof. K. Venu, Manjeera Digital Systems), along with cultural programs, interactive sessions, and networking activities. The meet was attended by over 120 participants, including alumni, students and faculty of CASEST. Alumni expressed great enthusiasm and happiness in reconnecting with their alma mater and requested that such events be organized more frequently.

The event received financial support from the Institution of Eminence (IoE). It was coordinated by Dr. L. D. Varma Sangani, Prof. S. V. S. Nageswara Rao with the help of student coordinators Mr. Anil Kali and Mr. B. Vinay and many MTech and PhD students.
