The third cohort of a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Artificial Intelligence was inaugurated at the University of Hyderabad under the aegis of the Executive Education Cell, School of Management Studies, in association with Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education (CCE), Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The FDP aims to train faculty members from the undergraduate degree and professional colleges in Andhra Pradesh in subject-specific applications of Artificial Intelligence across different academic cohorts.

The first cohort (Commerce & Management and Life Sciences) has undergone the Five-day training from 02-Mar-2026 to 06-Mar-2026. The Second cohort (Arts & Humanities and Mathematical Sciences) has undergone the Five-day training from 09-Mar-2026 to 13-Mar-2026. The Third cohort of participants (Computer Sciences) will undergo the Five-day training from 23-Mar-2026 to 27-Mar-2026.

During the five-day intensive programme, participants will receive hands-on training from professors at the University of Hyderabad and other domain experts. The sessions are designed to equip faculty members with practical knowledge and tools to integrate Artificial Intelligence applications into their respective teaching and research areas.

The programme commenced with an inaugural session held at the East Campus Auditorium. Speaking on the occasion, the distinguished guest and Chief Patron Prof. K. Madhu Murthy, Chairman-APSCHE noted that Artificial Intelligence training will enable faculty members to come out with tools an solutions to subject specific problems/issues. This will be big step in the direction of Government of Andhra Pradesh in empowering the Degree college faculty in the state.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Prof. J Anuradha, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad maintained that the multidisciplinary faculty talent pool of the University are striving to take the fruits of their research and knowledge to the next levels through this kind of training and outreach programmes.

Prof. B. Raja Shekhar, Vice Chancellor Yogi Vemana University, Kadapa who attended the inaugural as the guest of Honour, highlighted the need for faculty members to adapt to emerging technological advancements. Prof. GVRK Acharyulu, Dean, School of Management Studies presented the Welcome address. The FDP is coordinated by Prof. Lokanandha Reddy Irala, Professor, School of Management Studies.
