Mr. Jyothi Basu Rajayyan, PhD Scholar working under the supervision of Dr MN Rajesh at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Hyderabad has joined as a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) PhD Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Modern Indian Studies (CeMIS), University of Göttingen, Germany under the “A New Passage to India III” program. The first grant is from 15 October 2022 till 14 January 2023.

At CeMIS, Jyothi Basu Rajayyan will be working on his Ph.D. dissertation with the support of the Modern Indian History Research group headed by Prof. Ravi Ahuja. His research interests include Gender and Labour studies, Human rights and Fisherfolks, Inequality studies, Process of Exploitation and Marginalization.
