Dr. Murali Banavoth, Assistant Professor at the School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad is the founding Executive Member of the governing body of the recently established Perovskite Society of India. (https://perovskitesociety.in/)
The Perovskite Society of India will promote awareness about perovskite research and raise policy research on this area. The society will aim to spread knowledge in the perovskite research among people and make them more aware about the commercialization potential of this material for energy, environment, sensor, biomedical, optoelectronics application etc and fundamental research. The society will be involved in various common activities including conducting workshops, seminars, conferences, etc. in the above mentioned domains. The society’s aim is to make the next generation “energy scientists and engineers” and bridge young scientists and engineers in one common platform.
Dr. Banavoth after obtaining his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science moved to King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) at Solar Center as a postdoctoral associate and carried out pioneering work in the field of hybrid functional materials for solar harvesting. Dr. Banavoth’s contribution to the photovoltaic (Solar Cells) research is evident from his outstanding 55 publications in Nature, Advanced Materials, JACS, Angew. Chem. etc. His research interests are broadly classified as organic, inorganic, and hybrid solar cells and photovoltaics.
