In line with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Hyderabad (UoH) and Help The Blind Foundation (HTBF), Chennai signed in August 2022 for Employability Mobility Education Training (EMET), HTBF has arranged 15 nos. of laptops for the distribution to trainees.

The University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. BJ Rao and ECDAP Chairperson Prof. BR Shamanna have distributed these laptops in a brief event held on 06-02-2024 in the VC’s conference hall.

All the ECDAP Members, the Committee Convenor & CE i/C Shri P Thukaram, Public Relations Officer, Shri Ashish Jacob Thomas were some of the Officials who attended the program.

The EMET program is intended to upskill the visually impaired students in the University, making them job ready on completion of their courses. It is a novel initiative that the HTBF has been undertaking in collaboration with higher education institutions across the country. The University administration express their gratitude to Shri Sivaji Rao, Managing Trustee, Shri Nataraj Shankaran and Ms. Deepa Krishnamurthy (Trustees) of the HTBF for showing their keenness in collaborating with UoH.

Shri N Annavaram, Member, ECDAP and faculty in the Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences proposed vote of thanks and concluded the program.
