Professor Suchandra Ghosh, Head of the Department of History, University of Hyderabad, was invited to the École Normale Supérieure, Paris, for a week-long visit. From April 11-16, 2025, she delivered a lecture on “Parallel Economic Historical Developments in Antiquity” and participated as a discussant in a workshop focused on “Merchants and their networks in Antiquity.”

Representing India, Professor Ghosh engaged with international scholars, sharing insights and learning from experts on ancient trade networks across the Mediterranean, Near East, Egypt, China, and the Greek world. This visit was part of the research project “Archéologie et philologie d’Orient et d’Occident,” led by Dr. Julien Zurbach.
