An International Conference was held on “Global Indian Diaspora: Continuities and Changes” organized by UGC Centre for the Study of Indian Diaspora at the C.V.Raman Auditorium, University of Hyderabad on 6th and 7th November 2014.
Dr Ajaya Kumar Sahoo, the Head of the Centre and the conference coordinator, delivered the welcome speech and introduced the two-day international conference to the delegates from five different countries. The conference was inaugurated by Professor E. Haribabu, Pro-Vice Chancellor, University of Hyderabad who also released the book titled “ Diaspora, Development and Distress: Indians in the Persian Gulf ”, edited by Ajaya Kumar Sahoo.
Professor Brij Maharaj from University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa delivered the keynote address. The conference covered seven different themes on Global Indian Diaspora and unfolds many untouched areas related to the Diaspora studies.
