A delegation of journalists/editors from Maldives visited the University of Hyderabad (UoH) on May 12, 2023. This visit has been organised by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and coordinated by the Department of Information & Public Relations, Government of Telangana. This visit is aimed at familiarizing the foreign media with different aspects of India relating to field visits highlighting India’s successes in the areas of renewable energy, Industry, defence, governance, IT services, Education and Pharmaceuticals.

Prof. B J Rao, Vice Chancellor of UoH extended a warm welcome and gave a brief account of the academic and research facilities available at the University. Later on, a presentation on Internationalization and courses for International Students was given by Prof. Chetan Srivastava, Director – Office for International Affairs. Prof. Samrat Sabat, Director – Research and Development gave an overview of the Research and Development Strengths of the university which is one of the Ten Public Institutions conferred with the Institution of Eminence status in 2019.

The delegation also visited the facilities at the Association for Scientific Pursuits in Innovative Research Enterprises (ASPIRE) – Bioincubators Nurturing Entrepreneurship for Scaling Technologies (BioNEST) and ASPIRE-TBI in the School of Life Sciences. Dr. Anil Reddy and Dr. Ramakrishna explained the activities of the University of Hyderabad incubation centres. Prof. N Siva Kumar, Dean-School of Life Sciences; Prof. Naresh Kumar Sharma, Coordinator, ASPIRE-TIDE; Prof. Rajagopal Subramanyam, Director and Coordinator, ASPIRE-BioNEST and Prof. G S Prasad, Director – Technology Industrial Liaison and Entrepreneurship Unit (TIE-U) were also present.
