The University of Hyderabad hosted a fine Hindustani vocal recital under the Campus Concert Series by Anith Sadanand, disciple of Pandit Ramesh Narayan (Trivandrum) and Pandit Rattan Mohan Sharma – (both are disciples of Sangeeth Marthand, Padmabhushan, Pandit Jasraj ) on 11th April 2014. Anith, an outstanding vocalist groomed in the Mewathi Gharana, is gaining enviable distinction amongst the younger musicians in the realm of Hindusthani Classical Music.
The hour long programme saw the vocalist moving through Raga Jog (Bada Khyal and Chhota Khyal), Raga Hamsadhwani in three bits and four bits, Raga Yaman and Raga Bhairavi that kept the audience spell bound. Accompanying him on Tabla was Shri Subhash Shastri , and on harmonium was Shri Madhusudan Pashan.
Anith sang compositions Tum Bin Kaise Kate, Pawan Put Hanuman Lala Tum, Jhini Re Chadariya Jhini Re Jhini, Mahi Saavare and other Bhajan compositions.
In his performance he carefully kept up with the purity and nuance of the Mewathi Gharana and the flawless manner in which he brought out the texture of the ragas and taans shows his determination and eagerness to reach out to wider and wider dimensions.
Anith started giving concerts at a very young age and has had the opportunity to perform at various places in India.
