The NSS cell, University of Hyderabad organized a cleanup drive programme from the South gate to South Campus Circle on 24 February 2024 in coordination with the Horticulture and Sanitation departments.

The NSS volunteers collected the plastic bottles, and plastic covers, cut the branches of the trees, removed the unnecessary plants, and bushes, swept the dry leaves, removed wooden logs and moved them to the dump yard by tractor. They collected 22 big plastic bags of waste material on both sides within the distance of a quarter kilometer.

Volunteers, who are busy with their daily academics, are sparing their time on weekends to maintain the cleanliness on the campus. They appealed to the university community to minimize plastic usage to protect the ecosystem on the campus.

Dr. B. Krishnaiah, NSS Coordinator, and Dr. Bhimsingh, NSS Programmme Officer guided the volunteers while participating in the programme.
