The NSS cell, UoH organized a Medical Camp at Lakdaram Village on 20-12-2024. It was a collaborative effort by the NSS Cell of the University of Hyderabad, in partnership with Sri Rajmatha Foundation, Hyderabad, Swasthik Rural and Youth Integrated Association, Amedha Hospital, and Janam Kosam Manam Foundation.

The event took place in the premises of Zilla Parishath High School of the Lakdaram Village. The camp provided essential primary health checkups, including monitoring pulse, blood glucose levels, blood pressure, and weight.

Dr. Rajendra and Dr. Ashok investigated and distributed the medicines free of cost. Additionally, there was a distribution of multi-vitamin and multi-mineral protein powder to anemic girls, elderly individuals, and pregnant women in need.

Volunteers assisted with crowd management and helped with basic checkups, such as recording patient information and assisting senior citizens and pregnant women.

Dr. Rajendra from Amedha Hospital and nutritionist Pujitha, Swasthik Rural and Youth Integrated Association for the adolescent students of the school and NSS volunteers aiming to educate them on healthy eating practices, conducted a special session on nutrition, anemia, and diet.

Uday Kumar Reddy, Sri Rajmatha Foundation, Vishwanatha, Swasthik Rural and Youth Integrated Association, Dr. Rajendra, Amedha Hospital and Shashikala and Harikrishna, and Janam Kosam Manam Foundation, Dr. B. Krishnaiah, NSS Coordinator and Dr. Bhimsingh, Programme officer monitored and guided the NSS volunteers as required to serve.

They thanked the Headmistress for allowing the premises to conduct the medical camp. In the evening, the volunteers visited the Mother Mary Old Age Home at Weaker Sections Colony, Rameshwaram Banda, Patancheru Mandal. They interacted with the elderly residents, learned about their living conditions, and offered their support.
