National Service Scheme (NSS) Volunteers Boya Sree Mansa and V. Hari Krishna of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) have been selected for the West Zone NSS Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp-2015 to be held at RTM Nagpur University, Nagpur, Maharshtra, from 8-17 October, 2015.
The NSS Coordinator of UoH, Dr. Vasanta Srinivasa Rao said that Ms. Boya Sree Mansa and Mr. V. Hari Krishna are the only two from the University who got selected for the camp out of 200 participants from the states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Daman & Diu and Dadra Nagar Haveli.
Prof. Podile Appa Rao Vice-Chancellor, UoH congratulated both the NSS Coordinator and the selected volunteers for representing the UoH at the national level camp. The ten-day camp will see the volunteers undertake different activities such as kit layout, parade, intellectual sessions, and cultural programmes and so on. Specially trained Army personnel will be involved to train the volunteers on march-past. Skilled resource persons on different life skills will also be involved to train these volunteers during their stay in the camp. The training is being organized by the NSS Regional Centre of Government of India under the supervision of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The selected NSS volunteers from the camp will have to participate in Republic Day parade to be held in New Delhi in the month of January, 2016.
