Prof. Suchandra Ghosh, Head Department of History, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) was invited to speak at the Melammu Symposia (17) entitled Naval Connectivity around the Iranian Worlds-From the Persian Gulf towards the Mediterranean and the Indian Ocean hosted by the UCL Jordan Centre for Persian Studies, Irvine, during June 19-20, 2024. 

The conference aimed at foregrounding how the Persian Gulf became an integral part of a trans-regional naval network that integrated the Mediterranean, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. Her paper was entitled, the ports of the Western Indian Sea-board and the ports of the Persian Gulf: A longue-durée narrative of early maritime connectivity ranging from 1st century BCE to 13th century CE.  Scholars from both the discipline of History and Archaeology, presented their research.
