Prof. Suchandra Ghosh invited to speak at Melammu Symposia

Prof. Suchandra Ghosh, Head Department of History, School of Social Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) was invited to speak at the Melammu Symposia (17) entitled Naval Connectivity around the Iranian Worlds-From the Persian Gulf towards the Mediterranean and the Indian Ocean hosted by the UCL Jordan Centre for Persian Studies, Irvine, during June 19-20, 2024. 

The conference aimed at foregrounding how the Persian Gulf became an integral part of a trans-regional naval network that integrated the Mediterranean, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean. Her paper was entitled, the ports of the Western Indian Sea-board and the ports of the Persian Gulf: A longue-durée narrative of early maritime connectivity ranging from 1^st century BCE to 13^th century CE.  Scholars from both the discipline of History and Archaeology, presented their research.
