Mr. Shadab Khan, a PhD scholar at the Centre for English Language Studies (CELS), University of Hyderabad, is currently at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, for a semester as a visiting research scholar, with support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
During his stay so far, he has audited courses in English Didactics and presented his doctoral research at the Research Colloquium in English Didactics at Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. He has also participated in academic conferences and workshops hosted by both institutions.
His doctoral research, supervised by Dr. Shree Deepa, explores how future English language teachers can make informed and meaningful use of digital technologies to support language learning. The visit has enabled him to engage with current scholarship in English Didactics, multilingual education, and digital literacy, while strengthening academic connections with researchers in these fields.
Mr. Khan expressed his gratitude to the DAAD, Freie Universität Berlin, and the International Office, University of Hyderabad, for their support during his time in Berlin.
