The National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Hyderabad conducted a Poetry Recitation Competition at the Department of Hindi, School of Humanities on 25-09-2024 on the theme “Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskar Swachhata” of Swachhata Hi Seva – 2024. Prof. J. Bheemaiah, Head, Centre for Comparative Literature inaugurated the event by reciting his poem on the theme.
Addressing the gathering, he said that practicing swachhata in one’s surroundings and swachhata in one’s mind and heart are important for the survival and progress of society.
Dr. Arshia Jabeen, Associate Professor, Department of Urdu said that maintaining Swachhata is essential for the well-being of human culture.
Dr. B. Krishnaiah, the coordinator of the NSS, explained the purpose and theme of the competition to the students.
Dr. Khasif, Assistant Professor, Department of Urdu, and Dr. Bhimsingh Programme Officer also addressed the gathering.
Dr. Bhagawan Gawade, Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi encouraged the young poets by singing ghazals. Student poets from the Departments of Telugu, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, and the Centre for Comparative Literature participated and recited their poems.
