The Indira Gandhi Memorial Library, University of Hyderabad, organized an online training and demonstration session on Turnitin Originality Check (OC) on 10 December 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, via the Zoom platform.

The session aimed to familiarize faculty members and research scholars with the enhanced features and best practices of Turnitin, with a focus on promoting academic integrity and improving the quality of scholarly writing. The training covered key areas such as text similarity detection, interpretation of originality reports, responsible use of writing tools in the AI era, and recent updates in Turnitin’s academic integrity solutions.

The session was conducted by Ms. Ashita Khandelwal and Mr. Tuhin Chowdhary. Deans, faculty members from various departments, and research scholars actively participated in the session. Around 90 participants joined and engaged in an interactive discussion, raising several practical queries related to creating classes, uploading documents, acceptable file formats, treatment of citations, references and methodology sections, and procedures for removing submitted documents from the Turnitin repository.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. O. Sivasankar Prasad, University Librarian (I/c), who expressed his gratitude to the higher authorities and the Centre for Networking and Facilities (CNF) for their technical support.
