The Department of Science and Technology (DST), under the Scheme “The Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence (PURSE)” had organized a one-day Vishwavidyalaya Anusandhan Utsav at Dr. Ambedkar International Center, New Delhi on 24th April 2023. The Chief Guest, Dr. Jitender Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology highlighted about the objectives and need of establishing and strengthening S&T infrastructure support system in the Universities and other related academic institutions through different DST programs including FIST, PURSE, SAIF, etc.
Dr. S Chandrasekhar, DST Secretary, Dr. Akilesh Gupta, Senior Adviser, DST and Dr. Pratishta Pandey, Head, R&D Infrastructure of DST were also present. Union Minister DrJitendraSingh launched a new scheme, SUPREME, to provide financial support for repair/upgradation/ maintenance/retrofitting or acquiring additional attachments to increase functional capabilities of existing analytical instrumentation facilities during the programme. He also inaugurated an exhibition during Vishwavidyalaya Anusandhan Utsav 2023 in which University of Hyderabad showcased the research accomplishments, novel findings, & technologies under the common platform for knowledge sharing. A video on the progress and Research facilities of University of Hyderabad was displayed along with the posters to showcase the achievements of University of Hyderabad. Prof Samrat L. Sabat, Director, Research & Development Cell, Prof K. Muralidharan, School of Chemistry, Prof Mrinal Kanti Bhattacharyya: School of Life Sciences and Prof Dibakar Das, Dean, School of Engineering Sciences represented the university at the event.
