Dr. Inder Sekhar Yadav, an alumnus of the University of Hyderabad, has been selected for the “Prof M J Manohar Rao Award” for the year 2013 which consists of a cash prize of Rs.10, 000 and a Citation. This would be presented to him during the 50th Annual Conference of The Indian Econometric Society (TIES), to be held at IGIDR, Mumbai, from 22nd to 24th December, 2013.

As a part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations, TIES has instituted an award for young scholars (below 35 years) in India to commemorate Prof M. J. Manohar Rao’s contributions to economic research as well as to the TIES. Details on the award can be found in its website www.tiesindia.net. The selection committee, which scrutinized all applications/nominations, was chaired by Prof V R Panchamukhi, the chairman of the TIES Trust.

Dr. Inder Sekhar Yadav, presently serving as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Hyderabad, holds MA, M.Phil and Ph.D degrees in Economics from School of Economics, University of Hyderabad. His M.Phil supervisor was Dr. Phanindra Goyari. The doctoral thesis of Dr. Yadav was supervised by Dr. Phanindra Goyari and Prof. Naresh Kumar Sharma of School of Economics, University of Hyderabad. He has over 5 years of experience in teaching and research. At the IPE, he is involved in research, consultancy, teaching and training. He has taken over as the Coordinator of the Risk Management Cell of the institute and is working on identified thrust areas of research. He has conducted a number management development programmes on enterprise risk management. He has been actively involving himself in organizing several national and international conferences. His teaching and research interests include Financial Risk Management, Banking, Macroeconomics and Industrial Economics. Dr. Yadav has published several articles in reputed national and international journals. He has also presented his work in several national and international conferences.
