Dr. Shilpa Krishna, a proud alumna of the University of Hyderabad (MA, MPhil and PhD in Sociology – 2012-18), has received the prestigious Capital Foundation National Award from the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri Revanth Reddy on July 26, 2025. Her tireless work in social justice, environmental health, and community empowerment has earned her this recognition.
Her Contributions:
– Expanding access to affordable medicines and addressing healthcare disparities
– Raising awareness about pollution and public health issues, including antibiotic resistance
– Leading campaigns in schools and rural communities
– Supporting children with special needs and those orphaned by HIV/AIDS in accessing education and services
Dr. Shilpa is currently pursuing a law degree at CMR University, Bengaluru, while continuing her work with grassroots groups.
