Dr. O.S.S. Prasad, University Librarian (I/c), Indira Gandhi Memorial Library is represented the University of Hyderabad at the Charleston International Conference Asia 2026 held from 26–28 January 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The conference brought together approximately 700 delegates from across the globe to deliberate on emerging issues shaping the future of libraries and scholarly communication. The event featured discussions on evolving trends in scholarly publishing, the integration of generative artificial intelligence and new technologies in libraries, equity and inclusion in research visibility, and innovative leadership practices in academic libraries. Sessions also highlighted sustainability initiatives and the role of libraries in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, alongside fostering global and regional collaboration among libraries, publishers, and research institutions.
Dr. Prasad’s participation contributed to professional exchange and knowledge sharing with international experts and library professionals from leading institutions, including representatives from centrally funded institutes in India. The insights gained from the conference are expected to support ongoing efforts toward strengthening library services and research support at the University of Hyderabad.
