Dr. Pushpesh Kumar, Department of Sociology, University of Hyderabad, Sayantan Datta and Neha Mishra, teaching faculties at the Centre for Writing & Pedagogy, Krea University, have recently curated a set of articles for Community Development Journal (Oxford University Press: UK and Ireland). The journal issue is titled ‘Trans and Queer Community Building in post-NALSA and post-377 India: a critical reflection. www.academic.oup.com/cdj/issue/59/2

The articles address both the hindrances to queer and trans community development as well as narratives of hope that show how queer and trans persons continue to build affirmative communities in the face of an increasingly neoliberalizing country.
