Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Pro Vice-Chancellor, University of Hyderabad (UoH) inaugurated the “World Diabetes Day” which is observed on November 14 with the theme on Women & Diabetes organized by the University Health Centre on November 14, 2017 at the Health Centre premises.
Prof. P. Prakash Babu while addressing the gathering said that the astonishing fact is that one out of 10 women are diabetic. He said that to create awareness, UoH Health Centre has started a wonderful initiative to educate and provide essential insights into the four pillars of diabetic management i.e. diet, exercise, medication and prevention.
It is estimated that India has the second highest number of diabetes cases in the world. Diabetic menu should be followed thoroughly by which prevention is possible.
Earlier Dr. Anupama Row, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) welcomed the gathering and introduced about the diabetics in women, which was attended by Dr. Ravindra Kumar, CMO, Dr. P. Rajashree CMO, staff nurse, faculty and staff.
