A seminar “Power of Ideas” focusing on Entrepreneurship Development organized by The Economic Times in collaboration with University of Hyderabad, Department of Science & Technology, Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship, IIM Ahmedabad, was held at the Savitribai Phule (formerly DST Auditorium ), UoH on 10th November at 5:00 PM.

The keynote speaker for the event Rajiv Chilaka, Founder of Green Gold Animations, emphasized on the need of an extraordinary idea to start a company. Further he said that startups will drive the future of our country. He also shared the journey of his company Green Gold and the success it has achieved with the recent collaboration with Netflix to produce an animated television series ‘Mighty Little Bheem’.

The program proceeded with a panel discussion moderated by Varsha Bansal from The Economic Times with panelists including Jay Krishnan, CEO of T-HUB Incubator, Anu Acharya from Mapmygenome, Rajiv Chilaka and Naidu Darapaneni from Mera Events. The theme of panel discussion was ‘Hyderabad: India’s Pitstop for Global Tech Businesses’

Initiating the discussion Jai Krishnan said, “A city needs momentum, diversity and density for the startup ideas to progress and Hyderabad has all of them and most importantly diversity.”

Chilaka to give the global perspective advised not only to look at West but China too for startup inspirations because Chinese companies have come from nowhere and proved their name.

Anu Acharya focused on the Genomics sector as a growing sector in the startup industry.

Naidu emphasized on the motto of not expecting much from the government but to have an approach to give more to the society. He also added that startup sector in Hyderabad has immense support from the government.

The Economics Times moderator Varsha Bansal took the audience through the participation process of ‘Power of Ideas’ elaborating them about the rules and guidelines. She concluded the event with the vote of thanks to the esteemed guests and the audience.
