Dr. J.D. Prabhakar, an alumnus of the Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies (CALTS), School of Humanities, University of Hyderabad (UoH) that his PhD research has been published as a book titled Socio-Economic Profiling of Indian Languages by Lincom GmbH Europa in Germany.
The book was officially launched at the 13th International Conference of Telugu Linguists’ Forum, organized by the Department of Linguistics at Osmania University, Hyderabad, on 25-26 March. The launch was graced by Prof. Uma Maheswara Rao, former president of the Linguistic Society of India, Prof. Kashim, Principal of Arts College, Osmania University, and Prof. M. Santhosh, Project Director at CIIL Nellore.
The book has received international recognition for its exploration of the relationship between language and economic development. It has recently been added to esteemed institutions such as the Heidelberg University Library and several national libraries in Germany, further emphasizing its academic significance.
