RMIT (Melbourne, Australia) — AcSIR (CSIR, India) Joint Research Distinguished Professor Award is named in the honour of Professor Goverdhan Mehta (School of Chemistry, University of Hyderabad) along with Professor Robin Batterham (University of Melbourne, Australia). This is a very prestigious and competitive International Award.

The Award consists of a cash prize of AUD1,000 and a signed certificate which will be presented to the Awardees at a ceremony at RMIT City Campus on Friday 24th October during the Diwali Function. Awardees are also offered a mentoring opportunity by meeting with the distinguished scientists after whom their awards are named.

The selection process was highly competitive and transparent. Nominations of PhD candidates in the RMIT-AcSIR cotutelle program completing in 2024 were carefully evaluated by a distinguished panel of experts against criteria including academic excellence, innovation, leadership, and personal resilience.
