Prof. Rila Mukherjee is a historian specializing in global history, particularly the history of the extended Indian Ocean world. She has held Visiting Professorships at several prestigious universities and has partnered international interdisciplinary projects funded by prominent organizations. She is presently a Member of the Indian Ocean World Centre, McGill University, Canada.
