The NSS Cell of the University of Hyderabad organized a clean-up drive on the premises of the School of Social Sciences on 13 February 2026, in collaboration with the Horticulture and Sanitation departments. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Sunitha Rani, Dean, School of Social Sciences. Over the course of two hours, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., NSS volunteers actively participated in clearing dried grass, trimming unnecessary branches, cutting bushes, sweeping dry leaves, and transporting the collected waste to the dump yard with the help of a tractor.

Dry wood logs that had been lying unused for a long time were also shifted. Dr. B. Krishnaiah, NSS Coordinator, guided the activity and supervised the volunteers throughout the drive. Prof. Sunitha Rani expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the NSS volunteers for their dedicated efforts in improving the cleanliness and upkeep of the School’s premises. The initiative highlighted the spirit of teamwork and social responsibility among the NSS volunteers, reinforcing the University’s commitment to maintaining a clean and green campus environment.
